The list and map below show recent seismic events, ie. not only earthquakes but also quarry blasts and other disturbances. It is important to note that seismic events marked with “A” in the status column (STAT) have been detected automatically and have not been confirmed by a seismologist yet. Confirmed events are marked with “C”. Earthquakes do not occur very frequently in Ireland and many of the seismic events listed below are quarry blasts (see “TYPE”).
